The origins of Ballpark Tours lie in the late 1970’s, when it was known as “Save the Met.” They
worked to prevent The Minnesota Twins from leaving beloved Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington for The Metrodome in downtown
Minneapolis. They believe that baseball should be played outdoors and on real grass.
This effort obviously did not succeed. So, in 1982, the year the Twins moved indoors, “Save the Met”
became Ballpark Tours. Ever since, the group has dedicated itself to traveling the country to attend major and minor league
outdoor ballparks.
